Caring for an aging parent is hard work.  Get answers to your questions.
Get advice so you'll know what to do next.

Are you developing a workplace program, product or service to better support Baby Boomers who care for aging parents?

If so, I can help.

My name is Maria and I am an expert in patient and family engagement.  You can read a bit more about my experience in the column to your right, but in short - I know working family caregivers and what they need most!

Considerable attention is paid to the fact that 10,000 Baby Boomers turn 60 every day.  However, what's often overlooked is that the vast majority of those Baby Boomers are family caregivers - that is, they provide unpaid assistance to their aging parents, and they do so while working full or part-time.

So what happens when the parent of a working family caregiver (a.k.a. Baby Boomer) faces a health crisis?

Simply put: Productivity takes a significant and costly nosedive and the cost to retain good employees goes up.

Over time, caregiving can force these workers to reduce their hours, or take a leave of absence.  Those who remain on the job without these accomodations are often overwhelmed and need assistance which they may not know how to find. This is especially true at the end of life or when a employee's loved one has an illness that is likely to last many years such as Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.

I hope you'll contact me to discuss your project today.
